Something is Missing
We were scheduled to bring her home on Tuesday. We took the car seat in for the "car seat test" where she is strapped in for 1.5 hours on monitors to make sure she can still breathe in there. With her homecoming upon us, I spent today "nesting." I took Bruce to the library, stocked up on diapers and wipes, put gas in the car, disinfected every corner of the house, and set up the crib. I called the hospital around dinnertime to check on Phoebe and see when she was being fed next so I could plan a visit. "Bad news," the nurse said. "She had another sleep apnea spell. It'll be another five days." Five more days to nest.

Sad, we're excited for you to have her home. But thank goodness for doctors that can monitor her and keep her safe while she sleeps! Better to get through this stage at the hospital! Hope she gets to come home soon.
scary--what happens if that happens at home? do you have a machine or something?
I'll bet you are all very disappointed. You will just have to give a few more days of attention to the Bruce man. Love you!!!!
bummer
Oh man! Honey, I'm just feeling horrible for you. We'll keep you all in our prayers.
The Piepers are right... how great that you have a hospital nearby keeping such a diligent watch on your little girl. Bruce can relish in his final days as the only child in the house!
Oh Emily! I know it seems like forever and a day until you get to bring her home... just pretend that she is still in your belly and you get to keep getting a sneak preview of her every time you visit the hospital/ nurse her... because isn't she not due until the end of the month? so you are just getting extra bonus preview time...
okay that doesn't make sense, but what i'm trying to say is ... you have an incredible blessing in phoebe, and the lord is just making you have to work a little and be patient.. arghhh.. she is so worth the wait! just think how clean your nest is going to be (but dont overdo it, okay!?!)
xoxox
So Crappy! I'm really sorry.
