The End is Near...

The show is almost over! In a few hours, I'll be climbing aboard the plane and heading home. My laptop is ready to set on fire from all this over-time. My bags are much heavier coming home. I've got some convention loot: tote bags, pens, and even a photo puzzle starring myself in a Sesame Street scene.

While I was working, some of my coworkers made this little music video about our site.

Seriously, did you write that? 6mp K10D? Plush? "Grainy" VF?? O.o

Yes, if any of you are interested in seeing reviews of a reviewer, here's some nice fodder. I'm called an "imbecile," "soccermom," and "he" many times over.

Hi Emily Raymond,

If you're going to review a camera, at least get the facts correct. Amongst many incorrect statements making the camera sound simply dismissable compared to Nikon/Canon, even the fact that the K10D was 10MP, was wrongly stated as 6MP.

I realize in your career you, probably like a sheep, went automatically with Canon/Nikon with the ridiculous "buy-the-system" mantra, so this is what you are used to. But, condemning the ergonomics on that parameter is also ridiculous.

Those coming into Pentax without being used to something already, find the ergonomics far better than Canon, and easily on par if not better than Nikon in that price range. Extended menus were a feature put in because of Pentax customer request. They listen. See here for even more inaccuracies on your review in particular:

Also, try backing up your review with looking at the amazing detail and clarity of ISO 3200 & 6400 images that are all over the web now., not to mention lower ISOs at 14.6MP with the same size photosites as smaller sensors - giving lower noise/more detail than Canon 40D/5D & Nikon D300.

This is far more important than comparing its button placement to your Nikon/Canon. Also, not realizing the "grain" on the focusing screen is meant to facilitate accurate manual focusing which Pentax owners find important because of full compatibility with older MF lenses.

Thank you,

Tbird

PS: This all is expected though on your site, based on that recent review of the K10D where your site actually was the only review saying color accuracy was worse than Canon/Nikon. Every other site review noticed that the color accuracy was better than the competition - especially RAW. Soft jpgs being the only correct statement, and those are that way to allow for using better commercial sharpening programs in post processing,(a debatable decision based on how important out-of-camera sharpness is) A moot point, because the camera is adjustable.

Obviously from both these staff member reviews, it seems your site is a Canon/Nikon biased site to the point of explaining opinions using misleading, incorrect feature facts. Oh well.
