Train Show No. 2

After our last outing to a model train show, we found out there is a whole museum dedicated to this crazy hobby. So this is how we spent our Saturday afternoon...
Oooo-ing...
And ahhhhing...
Over trains. Lots of them.

Scott was a trooper. He held Bruce on his shoulders for more than an hour - all the while getting either a scalp massage or a good hair-pulling. Mostly the latter.

This museum has about seven miles of train tracks weaving through it. There are thin aisles where we walked, and then there were little tunnels or roped off corners where the engineers would huddle with their controls. All the guys working the rails were old, but most of the museum's visitors were under four years old.
What train set is complete without this guy?
Bruce loved this museum. And as cheesy as it is, it's still a tiny step up from Chuck E Cheese, right?

"What train set is complete without this guy?"

After reading this comment Mike and I spent hours trying to figure out who the old guy was in the background (a famous train conductor???), but then we realized...Thomas.

Very fun. We paint nails and dress up dolls for fun here. There is a train garden north of Chicago. If you are ever in town(in the summer), we could check it out... 'cause I know how you love those trains. :)

Train museum or HEAVEN? What a fun outing. We'll have to add that to our growing list of things to see while we are here.

Before I even read the post, I saw what it was about and knew Bruce was completely in Heaven! :)
